Shin Min-a is maintaining a busy schedule following her marriage to Kim Woo-bin, with confirmed lead roles in both the Disney+ original series ‘The Remarried Empress’ and the upcoming MBC drama ‘Wednesday, Thursday, Friday’.
On November 3, a press conference for the Disney+ original series ‘The Remarried Empress’ was held at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul. The fantasy romance epic depicts the story of Empress Navier (Shin Min-a) of the Eastern Empire, who faces a divorce demand from Emperor Sovieshu (Joo Ji-hoon), who has been captivated by the runaway slave Rasta (Lee Se-young). Instead of accepting the divorce, Navier demands approval for her remarriage to Prince Heinrey (Lee Jong-suk) of the Western Kingdom. The series premieres its first four episodes on November 4, followed by two episodes every Wednesday for a total of 10 episodes.
In addition to her OTT fantasy project, Shin Min-a is teaming up with Lee Jin-wook and Teo Yoo for the new MBC Friday-Saturday drama ‘Wednesday, Thursday, Friday’, slated to air in the first half of 2027.
The 12-episode romance drama tells the story of people reuniting with their first loves after 12 years and confronting long-buried emotions against the backdrop of a restaurant named ‘Wednesday, Thursday, Friday’ that only opens three days a week.
Director Jung Dong-yoon, known for ‘Gyeongseong Creature’ and ‘Stove League’, collaborates with writer Joo Hyun from ‘The World of the Married’. Meanwhile, famed writer Kang Eun-kup of ‘Dr. Romantic’ and ‘Baker King Kim Tak Gu’ participates as a creator, heightening anticipation for the project.
Shin Min-a takes on the role of Cha Eun-su, a woman who hides her true intentions as she reconnects with the first love she parted ways with 12 years ago. Having built a strong filmography through ‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’, ‘Our Blues’, and ‘No Gain No Love’, Shin Min-a is expected to showcase deep emotional spectrums in this complex narrative.
Lee Jin-wook plays Kim Dong-u, the chef of the unique restaurant who lives a dry routine after holding onto the memory of a lost first love. Teo Yoo portrays Lee Won-pil, Cha Eun-su’s husband and a conglomerate executive who possesses wealth and capability but struggles to understand how to truly love.
The upcoming MBC drama ‘Wednesday, Thursday, Friday’ promises to deliver deep emotional resonance through the complex romance of these three characters when it airs in early 2027.
