Group TXT (Tomorrow X Together) has taken a firm stance against the widespread dissemination of false information.
On October 22, Big Hit Music released a statement via Weverse stating, "We have recently confirmed that false information and malicious rumors regarding our artists are being indiscriminately circulated on overseas social media and online communities, and we have been carrying out necessary internal measures and responses."
The agency explained, "We previously refrained from issuing separate notices or mentioning these issues to prevent false rumors and malicious posts from being unnecessarily re-circulated through official statements. However, with the comeback approaching, we have determined that malicious rumors and posts aimed at slandering the artist have reached a serious level, and we will take additional response measures to protect the rights and interests of our artists."
They emphasized, "Posting and spreading malicious content is a clear criminal act that severely damages the personality and reputation of the artists. We are currently collecting evidence regarding relevant posts on domestic and international platforms, and we will take strict legal action without any leniency or settlement. As the personality rights of the artists are being severely violated, we are responding strictly to malicious posts regardless of the channel, including social media and online communities."
Finally, Big Hit Music stated, "Big Hit Music will continue to respond strongly with a zero-tolerance principle to all illegal activities that infringe upon the rights and interests of our artists, and we will do our utmost to protect our artists and prevent the recurrence of similar damages."
Meanwhile, TXT is scheduled to make a comeback on November 16 at 6 p.m. with their 9th mini album ‘PERFECT STORM’.
Below is the full official statement from the agency.
Hello, this is Big Hit Music. We have recently confirmed that false information and malicious rumors regarding our artists are being indiscriminately circulated on overseas social media and online communities, and we have been carrying out necessary internal measures and responses. We previously refrained from issuing separate notices or mentioning these issues to prevent false rumors and malicious posts from being unnecessarily re-circulated through official statements. However, with the comeback approaching, we have determined that malicious rumors and posts aimed at slandering the artist have reached a serious level, and we would like to inform you that we will take additional response measures to protect the rights and interests of our artists. Posting and spreading malicious content is a clear criminal act that severely damages the personality and reputation of the artists. We are currently collecting evidence regarding relevant posts on domestic and international platforms, and we clearly state that we will take strict legal action without any leniency or settlement. As the personality rights of the artists are being severely violated, we are responding strictly to malicious posts regardless of the channel, such as social media and online communities. We ask fans to report and inform us about illegal posts so that indiscriminate rumors and information do not spread online and on social media. If you discover illegal acts or rights infringement cases related to the artists, we ask for your active reporting through the Hive Artist Rights Infringement Report site. Big Hit Music will continue to respond strongly with a zero-tolerance principle to all illegal activities that infringe upon the rights and interests of our artists, and will do our best to protect our artists and prevent the recurrence of similar damages.
