Say It With Audio: TikTok New Comment Features Bring Voice Notes and Polls
With over 1.7 billion daily interactions in its reply sections, the short-form video giant is officially expanding how users converse. According to a report by ABC News, the platform announced a massive suite of TikTok new comment features designed to turn comment sections into interactive mini-hubs. Headlining the update is the arrival of Voice Comments, allowing users ages 18 and older to record up to 60-second audio clips directly under videos.

Interactive Polls and Multi-Photo Carousels Take Center Stage
Beyond audio replies, the update gives creators and viewers fresh tools to boost engagement without leaving the feed. As detailed by ABC News, the company is introducing four major additions to the platform:
-
Voice Comments: Users tap a microphone icon in the comment box to record audio messages up to 60 seconds long. Rolling out globally over the coming month, anyone can tap to listen.
-
Comment Polls: Creators can pin a poll directly in their video’s comment section. They can add up to five options, set a voting timeframe, and track real-time results.
-
Photo Carousel Comments: Users can now attach up to nine static photos in a single comment to share multi-frame moments.
-
Live Photo Comments: Users can upload iOS Live Photos straight from their camera rolls to drop quick bursts of motion into the reply threads.
A Global Rollout Designed to Fuel Community Chaos
TikTok told ABC News that photo carousels and voice notes will continue rolling out globally over the next month, while Live Photo commenting is already live. By morphing basic text boxes into multimedia message boards, the platform is betting on richer, noisier, and far more expressive creator-fan conversations.
