XLOV i=! is generating high anticipation as the group showcases their versatile genre-消化 skills through a newly released highlight medley.
On the 10th, group XLOV released the highlight medley video for their 3rd mini-album ‘i=!’ (pronounced ‘i equals i’) via their official YouTube channel.
Directed in an interview format based on the stories of the tracks, this video offers a glimpse into XLOV’s uniquely original musical world. The first title track, ‘Hush,’ creates a mysterious mood with an oriental motif and heavy bass, while the second title track, ‘Tooth Gem Chihuahua,’ presents a dreamy vibe by blending hyperpop and dreamcore over an intense house rhythm. Additionally, several other genre tracks were unveiled, including ‘Cat Move’ which captures a cat’s provocative charm, ‘All Tied Up’ featuring hypnotic synth sounds as a unit song for Louis and Hari, and ‘Silence’ where Umuti and Hyun combine for a warm R&B sensibility.
This new album marks their comeback approximately 5 months after their 2nd mini-album ‘I,God,’ with members Umuti and Hyun directly participating in the songwriting to further solidify the team’s distinct color. Having explored the process of transforming into a desired existence through the metaphor of chess’s ‘pawn promotion’ in their previous work, XLOV intends to spark deep contemplation on life’s changes and underlying possibilities through every moment’s choice in their new album ‘i=!’.
Meanwhile, XLOV’s 3rd mini-album ‘i=!,’ featuring an expanded narrative and the members’ distinct charms, will be officially released on major music streaming sites at 6 PM on the 28th.
