A heartwarming story is circulating online about a mother who attached multiple apology and caution notices all over her vehicle to safely transport her child for medical treatment and daycare, earning warm encouragement from netizens.

According to social media platforms on the 19th, a photo of a compact car driving on the road was recently posted on Threads with the caption, “Everyone has a first time and a beginning. Hang in there!”

The rear of the vehicle in the photo featured a handwritten note reading, “Commuting to and from daycare. Thank you for your consideration,” alongside various stickers such as “Super Beginner Driving,” “Baby on Board,” and “Sorry, I’m a beginner.” The user who uploaded the photo noted that similar notices were attached to the side doors as well, expressing curiosity about whether they were also placed on the front windshield.

As the photo went viral, the car owner left a comment directly revealing the backstory of how she started driving. The driver, identified as A, said, “A friend told me they saw my car on Threads, so I came to check it out. I was worried there might be malicious comments, but I’m truly grateful to everyone for their support.”

A began driving out of necessity for her child’s medical treatments. After learning last year that her child’s development was delayed, A started driving 5 to 10 minutes from home to a center for speech therapy and sensory integration therapy.

However, intimidated by driving, A initially dared not drive her husband’s large vehicle. “I didn’t have the confidence to park a big car, so I pushed the stroller and ran hard,” she said. “When it snowed, I wore ice cleats on my shoes, but I was helpless when it rained. Because the distance was short, it was hard to catch a taxi, so I finally made up my mind to drive.”

After taking driving lessons, A purchased a used compact car. Initially planning to stick to her neighborhood, her driving distance increased when her child transferred to a daycare integrated with disability support. She now makes two round trips daily, taking 20 to 30 minutes each way.

“The route features wide, busy roads with heavy traffic, and driving with my child makes it quite scary,” A explained. “To avoid causing trouble for others, I wanted to clearly display that I am a beginner, which is why I ended up putting these signs all over.”

She added, “Of course, some drivers honk when I change lanes, and since I keep a wide distance from the car ahead, many cars cut in front of me, which causes inconvenience to the drivers behind me. However, many people yield and drive with a safe distance behind me, for which I am always grateful.”

She concluded by saying, “I am trying my best to stay close to the car ahead so as not to disrupt traffic, but I would greatly appreciate your understanding even if I am slow and frustrating at times.”

Upon reading the story, netizens responded with supportive comments such as, “I hope the writer and her family ride their compact car into a wider world,” “Everyone starts somewhere. Hang in there, you’ll get better soon,” “If I see a car like this, I want to let them merge 100 meters away,” and “I hope you appear in front of me someday so I can let you merge right away.”
