South Korea’s leading lifestyle brand Artbox US expansion is officially underway as the company enters the North American offline retail market.
CBRE Appointed as Exclusive Real Estate Partner
Commercial real estate firm CBRE announced that it has been selected as the exclusive real estate partner for Artbox’s expansion into the United States. Founded in Seoul in 1984, Artbox currently operates over 220 direct-run stores in Korea, offering a wide range of products including stationery, lifestyle goods, wellness items, cultural goods, travel gear, gifts, and food.
Pop-up Stores and Future Store Locations
The site selection and rollout process in the US will be managed by Steven Jeon and Sophie Choi, founding members of CBRE’s North America Korea Desk. As the first step of its US entry, Artbox opened a pop-up store on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles earlier this month, showcasing a space that combined shopping, K-culture, and interactive content from the 3rd to the 11th.
According to CBRE, Artbox is primarily reviewing the Western region for its permanent store expansions in the United States. Key candidate locations include the San Francisco Bay Area, the Greater Los Angeles area, and the Pacific Northwest.
Sophie Choi, Senior Vice President at CBRE, stated that growing interest in Korean music, dramas, beauty, wellness, and lifestyles in the US has created an ideal opportunity for Artbox to open its first American locations.
Artbox’s entry into the US is evaluated as part of a broader trend of Korean brands successfully advancing into the American market, fueled by the recent popularity of K-pop and K-beauty.
