BABYMONSTER DESERVE showcases the group’s explosive vocal power and delicate emotional expressions, further broadening their musical spectrum. Known for building their unique color with intense performances and hip-hop sounds, BABYMONSTER has now placed a winning bet on peerless, overwhelming vocals.
BABYMONSTER released the sound source and music video for their new digital single ‘DESERVE’ through various music sites.
Making a high-speed comeback approximately four months after ‘SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA’ last June, BABYMONSTER attempted another transformation through their new song. The chosen genre this time is a pop ballad. Moving a step further from the intense energy and dynamic performances that represent BABYMONSTER, they reveal the aspect of an all-rounder group that far surpasses the music and vocal capabilities of typical idol groups.
BABYMONSTER’s new song ‘DESERVE’ is a pop ballad track highlighted by their delicate vocals and more matured emotional expressions. Lyrical synth melodies and a retro mood are combined with honest lyrics wishing for the partner’s happiness while looking back on past memories, leaving a deep resonance. Starting with restrained sentimentality and building up toward the chorus, the emotional line elevates the song’s immersion, while the members’ deeply soulful voices naturally pull in the listeners’ emotions.
"You deserve someone that loves you right / Baby you deserve better / I could love you til the end of time / Baby you deserve better / Better oh better / Baby you deserve better"
The simultaneously released music video also seamlessly melted the poignant yet lonely sentiment embraced in ‘DESERVE’. A cinematic and sensory direction stands out, while dramatic visual effects utilizing fire and flames combined with the members’ passionate acting amplify the song’s atmosphere.
Surpassing gorgeous hip-hop performances to perfectly master a long-breath pop ballad, BABYMONSTER has proven their infinite musical spectrum without limits through this new release. Particularly, rather than sweeping along with the volatile trends of recent K-pop, BABYMONSTER’s steadfast determination to win with the inherent power of the voice alone draws attention.
Amid pouring rave reviews from global fans regarding their unrivaled vocal volume and deep musicality, the K-pop industry is focusing its attention on BABYMONSTER’s brilliant flight as they break the mold once again.
