Park Bo-gum is back for Bogum Magicall 2, having secured his official national technical qualification as a general hairdresser to prepare thoroughly, though he soon faces unexpected hurdles due to the Gyeongsang-do dialect.

tvN’s ‘Bogum Magicall 2’ raises curiosity by previewing the unexpected challenges awaiting the trio of Park Bo-gum, Lee Sang-yi, and Go Kyung-pyo.

Scheduled to premiere in November, tvN’s ‘Bogum Magicall 2’ (directed by Son Soo-jung) portrays a special hair salon operating story in a small seaside village where hair and hearts are styled together. Returning through season 2 with further growth is ‘Director Park’ Park Bo-gum, alongside his close friend and season 1 standout actor Lee Sang-yi, joined by new member Go Kyung-pyo to deliver top-tier chemistry.

The 1st teaser released today captures the trio opening a Tongyeong hair salon and beginning full-scale operations. Park Bo-gum achieves a perm procedure after retrying and passing his hairdresser national technical qualification, Lee Sang-yi takes charge of nail services, and Go Kyung-pyo handles customer service flawlessly as the trio showcases upgraded skills in their respective positions.

However, perfect service is short-lived as unexpected obstacles emerge before the trio, foreshadowing turbulent operations. They run into the language barrier of the Gyeongsang-do dialect. The trio shows embarrassment, unable to understand the customers’ words and remarking, “We didn’t understand a single word.” In particular, when Park Bo-gum asks a young customer, “Does uncle’s dialect sound weird?”, the child answers “Yes” without hesitation, bringing laughter.

Unlike their proficient salon operation skills, the trio being helpless in front of customers’ dialects is expected to provide another point of laughter. Tongyeong dialect quizzes based on situations happening in the hair salon also add interest. Step-by-step quizzes utilizing Tongyeong dialects such as ‘paida’, ‘ibagu’, and ‘maengggi’ appear, tossing questions to viewers and presenting unique fun. The fun of inferring the meaning of the Tongyeong dialect along with the trio, as well as their chaotic operations amidst unfamiliar language, raises anticipation for the premiere.

Meanwhile, ‘Bogum Magicall’ aired its 10-episode first season from January to April this year. It recorded a peak viewership rating of 3.8%, featuring Park Bo-gum, Lee Sang-yi, and Kwak Dong-yeon. However, Kwak Dong-yeon stepped down for season 2 due to military enlistment, and Park Bo-gum’s close friend Go Kyung-pyo joined as a new member.

Park Bo-gum previously obtained his barber national technical qualification during his military service, and recently achieved the joy of passing the hairdresser (general) national technical qualification test, which he did not have in season 1. Even more dazzling hair styling skills are anticipated in this season of ‘Bogum Magicall 2’.
