SBS Friday-Saturday drama Doctor X: The Age of White Mafia is a refreshing medical noir drama depicting the active role of Doctor X Gye Su-jeong, who shatters massive absurdities with genius surgical skills that know neither failure nor compromise.
Perhaps due to featuring Kim Ji-won, Doctor X has been sailing smoothly since its premiere, recording another personal best rating of 19.5% nationwide and 19.2% in the metropolitan area (Nielsen Korea standard) for its most recent 6th episode. This marks the number one spot in its time slot and the top ranking among all Saturday miniseries.

In particular, it also ranked 5th in all-time SBS Friday-Saturday drama ratings. Above Doctor X, only The Penthouse 2 (29.2%), Manager Kim (23.1%), The Fiery Priest (22.0%), and Taxi Driver 2 (21.0%) exist.

In the ‘October 2026 Favorite Broadcasting Video Programs’ survey released by Gallup Korea on the 27th, Doctor X claimed overall first place with an overwhelming preference of 9.8%. Among the seven SBS dramas that have reached number one in Gallup Korea surveys conducted monthly since January 2013, Doctor X boasts the third-highest preference, following Manager Kim and My Love from the Star.
Additionally, in the survey for ‘Most Anticipated OTT and TV Hot Topics This Week’ released by research and data consulting firm PMI on the 26th, it successfully defended its number one spot for two consecutive weeks with a high approval rating of 27.3%.
The major reason behind the widespread popularity of Doctor X lies in the power of Kim Ji-won. The character’s unique identity as Gye Su-jeong—who prioritizes patients’ lives above all else and fights against absurdity—along with her thrilling, satisfying narrative has captured viewers’ hearts.
In particular, Gye Su-jeong’s active role in never backing down from her convictions for the sake of patients, even in front of unreasonable power and practices, adds the thrill of the cider genre to the unique tension of medical noir, bringing differentiated entertainment to viewers.
