Dynamic Duo member Gaeko recently mentioned G-Dragon, a younger artist he is normally on comfortable speaking terms with, and accidentally used honorific speech toward him, bringing laughter to viewers.

On the October 16 broadcast of KBS 2TV’s ‘The Seasons – Sung Si-kyung’s Ear Boyfriend,’ Gaeko appeared as a guest and shared various stories about his music career.

During the episode, Gaeko passionately performed Dynamic Duo’s hit song ‘Guilty’ by himself. He explained, "’Guilty’ was a track I released right before going to the military. Since I wouldn’t be able to do music activities while serving, I put it out, and it became the most loved song among all the tracks I released afterward."

When the conversation turned to his recent music activities, Gaeko shared his busy schedule, saying, "Lately, I get quite a few requests to write lyrics for idols." He mentioned working with various junior artists such as ENHYPEN and IVE. In particular, he drew attention by stating, "I even helped G-Dragonβ€”no, I helped him."

He had inadvertently used honorific language toward G-Dragon, who is younger than him, and then hastily corrected himself. Not missing a beat, Sung Si-kyung asked, "Isn’t G-Dragon much younger than you? Why are you using honorifics?" eliciting laughter. Gaeko looked flustered himself, saying, "It’s strange. I was surprised too. I automatically said ‘I helped him.’" He then explained, "I tend to use honorifics a lot in everyday life."

Upon hearing this, Sung Si-kyung playfully added, "G-Dragon-nim must be watching," attaching a polite title smoothly. He then joked, "I’m going to speak casually to GD," causing an outburst of laughter.

Gaeko marveled at the situation where honorifics slipped out on broadcast despite normally speaking casually with G-Dragon, saying, "Actually, I speak casually to him, but that’s strange. Why do I want to speak more formally?" In response, Sung Si-kyung expressed G-Dragon’s extraordinary presence in a witty manner, saying, "GD Power. I’m jealous."

The two men’s banter also led to a conversation about Jay Park. When Gaeko implied that he could perform just as well as Jay Park on stage, Sung Si-kyung fired back, "To treat you on the same level as Jay Park, you’re really making me want to use honorifics with Mr. Jay Park." Sung Si-kyung added to the humor by casually mentioning Jay Park’s song ‘MOMMAE’ and joking, "I almost wrote a song called ‘BEATING.’"

From IVE and ENHYPEN to G-Dragon, Gaeko continues his active career through collaborations with various artists. In particular, the lighthearted mishap where he unconsciously used formal speech toward G-Dragon, combined with Sung Si-kyung’s witty remarks, delivered plenty of entertainment.
