At the Gen.G 2026 Worlds Swiss stage, LCK top seed Gen.G secured a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory against North America’s Lyon (LYON) to advance to the knockout stage. Despite facing early pressure and dropping the first set, Gen.G mounted a fierce counterattack to claim their third consecutive win.
The match took place on October 26 at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. With this victory, Gen.G improved to a 3-0 record in the Swiss stage, becoming the second team after Dplus KIA to secure their ticket to the top 8.
Gen.G faced a rocky start in the opening set. Although they drew first blood, Lyon’s veteran operations and persistent skirmishing allowed them to secure key objectives. Gen.G fought back but ultimately surrendered the nexus at 35 minutes and 45 seconds.
Refusing to back down, Gen.G bounced back in the second set. Fueled by Kim ‘Kiin’ Gi-in’s stellar performance on Ambeta and Park ‘Ruler’ Jae-hyuk’s explosive damage output, Gen.G dominated team fights and secured a clean victory in 26 minutes and 32 seconds to level the series.
The final set remained tightly contested, with Lyon gaining a gold lead during the mid-game phase. However, Gen.G’s superior macro play and late-game focus sealed the deal. A decisive team fight at the 28-minute mark yielded an ace, and a subsequent skirmish near the Baron pit allowed Gen.G to sweep the remaining enemies and close out the series.
