Actress Jang Nara is returning for a brand new season of the hit drama series, taking on the role of a law firm representative in Good Partner Season 2. Following her Daesang (Grand Prize) win for the first season two years ago, she is set to showcase a fresh, evolved side of her character.
Jang Nara Returns as Law Firm CEO
The upcoming SBS Friday-Saturday drama Good Partner Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Friday, November 20, at 9:50 PM. Producers recently unveiled character stills of Cha Eun-kyung, played by Jang Nara, highlighting a much stronger and more seasoned legal expert.
Good Partner Season 2 follows the refreshing divorce court stories of veteran attorney Cha Eun-kyung, whose specialty is divorce, and passionate experienced attorney Kang Hye-sung, played by Kim Hye-yun. The series portrays attorneys making the best possible choices at the crossroads of life and career, delivering both emotional catharsis and deep empathy. Writer Choi Yu-na, a practicing divorce attorney, and director Seo Min-jung are teaming up once again to helm the project.
A New Chapter for Cha Eun-kyung
Jang Nara expressed her gratitude for the rare opportunity to star in a second season of a drama. She shared that returning with the same character was a unique experience, noting that while Cha Eun-kyung’s bold personality was a gamble in the first season, stepping back into the role required careful thought.
The actress highlighted empathy as the key change in her character. Having established her own firm, ‘Libom’, Cha Eun-kyung connects much deeper with the heartfelt stories of her clients. Jang Nara mentioned that she tried to let go of pressures and expectations from the previous season to deliver a more comfortable and relatable performance for viewers.
Cast Changes and Expectations
While Nam Ji-hyun has stepped down from the new season, newcomer Kim Hye-yun joins the cast as Kang Hye-sung, a fiery 5th-year associate attorney who teams up with Jang Nara. Season 1 achieved massive success, starting with a 7.8% viewer rating and peaking at an impressive 17.7%. With new cast dynamics in play, anticipation is high to see if Season 2 can surpass its predecessor’s records.
