Kia PV7 PBV โ€” Larger Than PV5 With 655mm Extra Length

Kia PV7 PBV

Introduction to the Kia PV7 PBV

The Kia PV7 PBV has officially made its world debut at the IAA Transportation 2026 exhibition in Hanover, Germany, showcasing a significantly larger footprint than its predecessor. Building upon the foundation of the smaller PV5, the all-new Kia PV7 PBV expands the brand’s purpose-built vehicle lineup with impressive dimensions and versatility. Coming in at 5,350mm long with a 3,500mm wheelbase, the PV7 is 655mm longer overall and features a 505mm longer wheelbase than the PV5, allowing for a spacious interior layout capable of accommodating up to four rows of seating in passenger variants.

Performance and Dedicated Platform

Underneath the flexible body system, the Kia PV7 PBV utilizes the E-GMP.S (Electric-Global Modular Platform for Service) dedicated EV architecture. The vehicle offers two NCM high-voltage battery options: a standard 71.5 kWh pack and a long-range 96.2 kWh pack. According to internal estimates by Hyundai Motor Group, the long-range variant targets a WLTP driving range of over 460km (approx. 286 miles) on a single charge. Thanks to an 800V charging system, the battery can replenish from 10% to 80% in the mid-20-minute range. Powered by a 200kW front-wheel-drive motor pushing 420Nm of torque, the platform also supports V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) capabilities to power tools and equipment on the go.

Global Launch and Software Ecosystem

Slated for a sequential rollout starting with the PV7 Passenger Long and PV7 Cargo Long in South Korea and European markets in the second half of 2027, the lineup will eventually expand to 23 diverse derivative and conversion models globally. Led by executives including Kia President Ho-sung Song, the brand aims to deliver comprehensive business solutions. The PV7 integrates cutting-edge software such as the Pleos Connect infotainment system, Gleo AI generative AI agent, and Pleos Fleet management. Safety features include a 7-airbag system with a roof-mounted front passenger airbag, alongside pedal misapplication safety assists to protect drivers and cargo alike.
