Actress Kim Seol-hyun is making her long-awaited return after a two-year hiatus following her previous project ‘Lighting Shop’.

Kim attended the Netflix Korea 10th-anniversary commemorative event ‘Netflix Party’, held at the Seoul Sangam Culture Creamery on the 24th.

Standing side-by-side with Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo on the ‘What Next’ stage—which introduces upcoming works and actors that will shine for Netflix Korea—she directly introduced her next project ‘Slow and Intense’, raising anticipation for her future activities.

Set for release on December 11, ‘Slow and Intense’ is set against the backdrop of the Korean entertainment industry in the 1960s and 1980s. It depicts the growth of individuals who had nothing during an era dominated by barbarism and violence, yet threw themselves entirely into chasing success.

Kim plays the role of ‘Min-hee’, a bold character who navigates toward success in her own way. Min-hee is a figure entangled in a love-hate relationship with Min-ja, played by Song Hye-kyo.

An industry representative stated, “Please look forward to the new facets Kim Seol-hyun will reveal through the ‘love-hate chemistry’ she will showcase with Song Hye-kyo.”

Kim added to the curiosity surrounding the project by stating, “The reality in ‘Slow and Intense’ was barbaric and violent. However, it is a work where the drive toward success and dreams, and the hearts looking out for one another, shine through the mud.”

Following Disney+’s ‘Lighting Shop’ released on December 4, 2024, Kim Seol-hyun is taking on a fresh transformation. She has also been cast as the beautiful yokai ‘Yeon-i’ in the new JTBC drama ‘Human X Gumiho’, and will make a special appearance as secretary ‘Lee Ae-rin’ in the new Disney+ series ‘The Great Man’, showcasing yet another charm.
