Former BIGBANG member Seungri (real name Lee Seung-hyun) has become embroiled in sudden premarital pregnancy and marriage rumors. Following recent headlines regarding his activities in Vietnam, new reports that he is expecting a child have drawn immense public attention.
According to media reports, Seungri is currently in a relationship with a non-celebrity woman in her 20s, identified as A, and the couple is expecting their first son to be born in January next year. Sources indicate that Seungri and A have prepared a new home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and plan to hold a wedding ceremony after the birth. The outlet reporting the news stated that they discovered the pregnancy while investigating Seungri’s recent special assault allegations, during which he allegedly made remarks suggesting he has a family to protect.

These rumors follow Seungri’s viral sighting in Vietnam last August. Vietnamese new media outlet Schannel previously released footage of Seungri visiting an event venue in Hanoi. In the video, dressed in a beige suit, he was seen walking under an umbrella held by a bodyguard. Observers also noted a noticeable change in his physical build compared to his active entertainment career.
Local reports indicated that Seungri attended the grand opening event of ‘AY-VY Hanoi’ at the Ho Guom Opera House on August 20. However, because his name was not included on the official guest list, various speculations arose regarding his attendance, though the exact circumstances remain unconfirmed.
Seungri debuted as a member of BIGBANG in 2006, achieving massive popularity both domestically and internationally. Following the Burning Sun scandal and related controversies, he withdrew from the group and announced his retirement from the entertainment industry. He was subsequently indicted on multiple charges, including mediating prostitution, violating the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act, occupational embezzlement, and overseas illegal gambling. He served a 1.5-year prison sentence and was released in February 2023.
