Singer Eric Nam has returned after 7 years, revealing surprising updates about his overseas activities.
On the 30th, Eric Nam appeared as a guest on KBS 2TV’s ‘Sung Si-kyung’s Ear Boyfriend’ to openly share his past activities and views on dating.
On this day, Sung Si-kyung warmly welcomed Eric Nam, who returned after 7 years. Making his face known through an audition program in 2011 and debuting with ‘Heaven’s Door’ in 2013, Eric Nam is celebrating his 14th year since debut this year. He has received immense love, particularly earning the title of the ideal husband material ‘1 Family 1 Eric Nam’.
The broadcast highlighted moments from his past as a ‘man of good manners’ to scenes where he smoothly interviewed foreign stars in English. Reflecting on this, Sung Si-kyung recalled meeting Tom Cruise recently, expressing, "I liked him even more after meeting him. I thought, ‘Can a person really be like this?’ His positive energy was huge, and he was humble and cool." When Sung Si-kyung added, "I hope international stars also appear on ‘Ear Boyfriend’," Eric Nam laughed and said, "I can help."
When asked about his recent whereabouts, Eric Nam surprised everyone by stating, "I’ve been busy. Recently, I started acting and filmed four movies. They are scheduled to be released continuously." He also shyly shared, "I even received an award from TIME magazine. It’s a bit awkward to say it myself." He continued, "There is a popular entertainment program in the U.S. that won 7 Emmy Awards. I placed 3rd overall there." Furthermore, he mentioned spending a busy time with overseas tours and album production, stating, "On my last tour, I traveled to 80 cities."

Hearing this, Sung Si-kyung reminisced about his own experience, saying, "Even though no one knew me, I started from the bottom in Japan." He then offered heartfelt encouragement, saying, "Working hard alone in a foreign country, I want to applaud that."
Sung Si-kyung advised, "You need to shamelessly make yourself known," to which Eric Nam replied, "I’m not very good at that." As Sung Si-kyung quipped, "You just did it now," Eric Nam laughed and said, "I will be even more confident."
In particular, Eric Nam introduced his new song released after 3 years. Explaining the title track ‘Psycho’, he shared, "I wrote the song imagining what it would feel like to go crazy for love, or what kind of person I would become when falling in love." When asked if he has ever experienced such love, he confessed honestly, "There were moments that felt like love, but I wonder if it was true love. I wrote it while imagining. I am still looking for love."
He also revealed his ideal type. Eric Nam chose, "Someone who grew up receiving a lot of love," adding, "Someone who has a good relationship with their family, is passionate no matter what they do, and smiles a lot as a bright person."
